The Virginia Tech Golf Club (VTGC) plans and organizes golf related events for its members both male and female. These events generally follow the format of interclub competitions, tournaments, intercollegiate events, and weekly practices. The club is invovled with the NCCGA, in which the members of the club take a weekend trip to various resorts across the nation.
The VTGC was established in the spring of 2003 as a student organization at Virginia Tech. However, in the fall of 2004, we were fortunate to become an actual club sport sponsored by the university. The VTGC holds tryouts during the first portion of the fall semester to create a roster. This roster consists of 7 officers and 13 members. Weekly qualifying rounds are held to determine who travels to various locations and tournaments across the country.
As a member of the National Collegiate Club Golf Association, the VTGC is able to compete against many other university golf clubs in tournaments held 3 times a semester. Qualifying rounds within our club are held for each of these tournaments.
The VTGC offers students an opportunity to gain valuable experience on the golf course. Our goal is to give students an opportunity to play competitive golf in an exciting and fun-filled environment that builds bonds united by a common interest.
